But Baby it's Cold Outside

The winter winds are good. The cold tests you. It keeps you clean. Or at least the illusion of cleansing. Maybe a metaphor for how some of us live life. By being cold, empty, barren and desolate our small little lives can be clean. No fluff. No mess. Never any need to sweat with the oldies and apply ice to burnt hearts. But this can lead to frostbite deep in your soul. Testing and challenging you, the cold can also leave you fooled. A person can walk for miles with frozen feet that already have died and will have to be amputated later. But as he walks, he can still enjoy the view and the fresh air, blissfully ignorant. I guess if you were going to have some ignorance, I’d prefer the bliss-loaded sort.

Amen at the bliss-loaded sort cuz I sure have enough problems without having to have my feet cut off from walking in the snow.
I'll just stay blissfully ignorant in my own little dream world where all the colors are pretty and the fireplace is always roaring. :-)

Definitely, though I think that all ignorance is blissful - although at the same time not really desirable, strange isn't it? Reminds me of the Matrix theme, is Cypher's treason rational or not? Hm, anyway, good luck to you...

Not to let you down Rex, I solicited the assistance of Captain Morgan, and Dr. Pepper in my pursuit to drink again. It seems I didn't do too bad, I didn't pass out after my 5th drink so that is a good sign.

An open mind can free so much and so many people, I figure people who have closed minds are selfish, they don't want to step outside themselves to really enjoy life, all life has to offer, and what people who you come across in your life have to offer. I've learned this more since I've been living in the States, you find alot of that here. To many people are caught up in trying to BE something rather than just being.

Ahhhh.... Snow.... I never thought I would say this but I really do miss the snow. I'm originally from Vancuver and although it rains more than snows, I've always loved the first day of snow. I bet it's beautiful.

I like your analogy. I'm one of those folks who constantly worry about whether their legs are frozen or not.

if taks a spark to start a flame. when the falme is lit it heats and its heat melts the ice. the flame dances and grows the remainder of the ice melts the ice...what lies under:

warmth, compassion, love, and hope...

searching for that spark...
